PLANNING FOR SUCCESS BY THINKING AHEAD OF THE MACHINE -- 2 events in Portland, Maine
Wednesday March 26, 2008 - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Maine Nonpoint Source Training & Resource Center, in cooperation with NEC member John W. Deering (founder of Earth Management: The Team Concept®) and the Associated General Contractors of Maine, put together a one-day course on nonstructural best management practices. The program discussed the nonstructrual best management items that are part-and-parcel to the structural items during the planning & design of a major construction site, and covered the due dilligence and standards of care associated with the Spearin Doctrine 1918.

Thursday March 27, 2008 - 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Contech Construction Products Inc. and WH Shurtleff Company hosted a Special Breakfast Presentation of "The Team Concept® and Planning for Success by Thinking Ahead of the Machine" that included discussion by three NEC members: John W. Deering (founder of Earth Management - the Team Concept®), William Laflamme (Director of Maine DEP Nonpoint Source Training & Resource Center and NEC New Hampshire Representative Randall Shuey (Senior Soil & Wetland Scientist with New England Environmental, Inc, Concord Office). Attendees learned how work zones, phasing and sequencing can reduce pollution, increase profits and save time & money on a construction site.
